Jerzy Dziekan 28th Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium 2023

Jerzy Dziekan

Jerzy is an HFSP Postdoctoral Fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) and in his research he leverages functional proteomics tools to study the proteome dynamics of malaria parasite and the mechanism of action of antimalarial agents. Prior to joining WEHI, Jerzy was based at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore where he undertook his doctoral studies, focusing on the molecular characterisation of antimalarial therapies; establishing MS-CETSA as a tool for studying Plasmodium falciparum. After obtaining his PhD in 2019, he was awarded NTU President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship to expand his work, using MS-CETSA to better characterise the mechanism of action of candidate antimalarial drugs. In 2022, thanks to the support from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) Long-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship, he moved to Australia to join WEHI.
